Appalachian Trail Adventure

Learn the how-to’s of backpacking. Hike the Appalachian Trail in the Berkshires. Carry your
supplies on your back as you camp along the trail for two nights. Plan your meals, learn to use
a backpacking stove and read a topographic map. Equipment is provided by camp. Campers
who participate should have adequate physical fitness to allow for hiking approximately
seven miles a day while carrying personal and group belongings.

Enjoy yoga sessions, create your own herbal body care products, and participate in a

skills on Big Pond. Once your group is prepped and ready, you will hit the Connecticut River

American Red Cross Open Waterfront Lifeguarding

Two Week Session $500 Would you like to become trained and certified as an American Red
Cross Lifeguard? Come to camp this session and take the American Red Cross Open
Waterfront Lifeguarding course. This course is designed to teach participants the knowledge
and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and
activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to
emergencies and prevent drowning injuries. You will learn lifeguarding skills for the
waterfront environment (lakes and rivers) in addition to pools. You will still have time to
squeeze in some fun, general camp activities while taking part in this session. Don’t forget
to pack your swimsuit and whistle!
* Prerequisites: Lifeguard Training participants must be at least 15 years old by July 23 and be
able to complete the following swimming skills on the first day of the course:
Swim 550 yards (about 500 meters) continuously in the following order: 200 front crawl, 100
breaststroke, 250 of either/both front crawl and/or breaststroke.
Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive seven to ten feet to retrieve a
10 pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point and exit the
water without using a ladder or steps within one minute and 40 seconds.
Swim five yards, submerge and retrieve three dive rings placed five yards apart in four to
seven feet of water, resurface and swim five yards to the side of the pool.

Two Week Session $500 Everyone has heard the phrase “go green,” but what does that
really mean? Come to Bonnie Brae for this two-week session and learn what others are doing
to be earth-friendly and what you can do, too! You will take awesome out of camp trips to
places like an organic farm, wind farm, and homes and businesses that are using sustainable
energy and other green practices. Once you have done your eco-tripping, you will
brainstorm with your group and work with the camp director to kick-off the Green Team at
camp.

s low ropes course by traversing the Mohawk Walk and swinging over the Peanut Butter Pit.

13-Day Double Session $455 Are you a teen who’s not sure what you want to do at camp or
even not quite sure what camp has to offer you? If so, this is the program for you. During
this two-week program, you will get a super intro to all that camp has to offer for teens
while developing great camp skills like fire building and outdoor cooking. Interested in the
water? You will take an intro Lifeguarding class and even get the chance to try your feet at
water skiing. Maybe you are interested in the Youth Development Programs (Counselor In
Training and Camp Apprentice). You will learn about group dynamics, team building, and
leading girls in units at camp. How about adventure trips? You will plan and participate in an
overnight hiking or boating trip out of camp. Do art, music, and drama really spark your
interest? Spend some time in the art loft doing advanced art projects, learning to lead songs,
and getting an intro guitar lesson. There are many ways teens can be a leader at camp,
